About Fourth Street School

Fourth Street School is a private therapeutic school for grades Pre-K through 9th. Our newly renovated facility is located in Arlington, Texas. Our programs offer a unique positive learning environment, designed specifically to address the needs of students who are challenged with educational, social, and emotional differences. We also work with children who are exhibiting behavior issues as a result of their learning disability, psychological disorder, or social deficits.

Does your child struggle to learn in a traditional classroom situation?

Are behavioral issues impairing your child's educational success?

Does your child have difficulty with friendships and social skills?

Why Fourth Street?

Fourth Street School can help address these problem areas and get your student back on the path to success with our four core values:

  1. Respect for Self
  2. Respect for Peers
  3. Respect for Adults
  4. Respect for the Environment

The Vision

Founded in 1986, Fourth Street School was established by three psychologists who saw the need for a school setting that could provide a customized learning plan beyond what traditional schools could offer. They had a vision for a school that could meet the very different needs of each individual student, instead of the typical "one size fits all" approach to learning.

The Reality

Now, twenty-five years later, Fourth Street boasts a staff of teachers experienced in special education and licensed children's therapy counselors who share a common goal of success for every student. While maintaining a low teacher to student ratio (1-6), our qualified instructors use personalized lesson plans and group therapy sessions to help students with challenges develop the self esteem, social skills, and coping mechanisms needed to transition into a mainstream educational environment.

It Takes a Village

It is our goal to provide quality instruction and help every child develop the confidence needed for academic and personal success. Because many of our educators have personal experience dealing with the learning differences of their own children, they are well equipped to understand the struggles faced by both the student and the parents. We want to address each student's challenges in a positive way, with a collaborative effort from parents, teachers, and counselors. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. With the daily support of a constructive home and school environment, students can utilize their strengths to overcome their weaknesses.
